I wanted to be remembered as a player that didn’t waste a moment. Didn’t waste a day ~ kobe bryant

2015 kobe

“I’ve always said that I wanted to be remembered as a player that didn’t waste a moment. Didn’t waste a day.” “I felt extremely blessed with a god-given talent. At the same time, I didn’t take it for granted at all.” “So if I could be remembered as a person with a lot of talent, but did everything he could to overachieve and lived every day like if he’s was the 12th guy on the bench.” “I think that is a very powerful message to have and something that hopeful the hopefully the players that are here now and those that come later will choose to embody as well.

“If you see me in a fight with a bear, prey for the bear”. Ive always loved that quote. Thats “mamba mentality” we don’t quit, we don’t cower, we don’t run. We endure and conquer.  ~ kobe bryant

The mindset isn’t about seeking a result—it’s more about the process of getting to that result. It’s about the journey and the approach. It’s a way of life. I do think that it’s important, in all endeavors, to have that mentality.

kobe自傳摘要 – 曼巴精神| Mamba Mentlaity : How do I play

    • Kobe

Iverson / T-Mac / Paul-Pierce / Vince Carter

包括了 Jerry West,James Worthy,Kareem Abdul-Jabba,Magic Johnson,Byron Scott。

What you have to do is love basketball. You can’t be great unless you really love the game.
Once you love basketball more than anyone else in the world, then you’re willing to sacrifice.

~ Michael Jordan

Jordan

What you have to do is love basketball. You can’t be great unless you really love the game.

Once you love basketball more than anyone else in the world, then you’re willing to sacrifice.

You’re willing to wake up early. You’re willing to do what it takes to be the best.

But first, you have to really love it.

Dear Basketball Full transcript –

No matter what I do next Ill always be that kid With the rolled up socks Garbage can in the corner, 5 seconds on the clock Ball in my hands. 5 4 3 2 …1

——

Dear Basketball,

From the moment I started rolling my dads tube socks And shooting imaginary Game-winning shots In the Great Western Forum I knew one thing was real: I fell in love with you.

A love so deep I gave you my all From my mind & body To my spirit & soul.

As a six-year-old boy Deeply in love with you I never saw the end of the tunnel.

I only saw myself Running out of one.

And so I ran. I ran up and down every court After every loose ball for you.

You asked for my hustle I gave you my heart Because it came with so much more.

I played through the sweat and hurt Not because challenge called me But because YOU called me.

I did everything for YOU Because thats what you do When someone makes you feel as Alive as youve made me feel.

You gave a six-year-old boy his Laker dream And Ill always love you for it.

But I cant love you obsessively for much longer.

This season is all I have left to give.

My heart can take the pounding My mind can handle the grind But my body knows its time to say goodbye.

And thats OK. Im ready to let you go.

I want you to know now, So we both can saver every moment we have left together.

The good and the bad.

We have given each other All that we have.

And we both know, no matter what I do next Ill always be that kid With the rolled up socks Garbage can in the corner, 5 seconds on the clock Ball in my hands.

5 4 3 2 …1

Love you always, Kobe
